Clergy and Churches United (CCU) is a faith-based nonprofit management and technical assistance organization located in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. Over the years, CCU has assisted many faith-based and other nonprofit organizations that engage in social program delivery to become more sustainable. This significantly strengthens their capacity to address the ever-changing needs of the families in the communities in which they serve.

These programs have ranged from services to infants, toddlers, children, youths, young adults, senior citizens and a growing, diverse immigrant population. Each has come with a different mission and set of goals expected.

CCU’s mission and goal is to assist each participating client in developing a customized development plan that aligns with the needs of their individual program. Each participant enrolls in a sliding-scale fee for service agreement with CCU. We provide assistance in the following areas:

• Assistance to the nonprofit organization in the development of strategic by-laws that set the course for effective governance practices
• Assistance in obtaining 501-C3 tax exemption status through the United States Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service
• Assistance with Board of Directors leadership volunteer recruitment strategies for effective fundraising and resource development
• Assistance in the preparation of Board of Directors, staff, and program volunteer retreats
• Assistance in strategic planning preparation, plan development, and accountability benchmark implementation
• Assistance in brand design and marketing plan implementation for ultimate public relations and fundraising success
• Assistance in the development of quality brand specific newsletters, websites, and presentation materials
